Low phase noise 144 MHz 2 tone generator for LNA IMD test

This is just the comparison between the tone generated by the internal calibrator of my Tektronix 495p and the tone generated by the home-brewed quartz generator (one of the 2 tones generator used for LNA IMD tests).

 

It is not an absolute p/n measure, but a kind of comparison just for fun.

 

A huge difference is anyway noticeable:

 

the tone at left is my quartz generator, the tone at the centre is the Tek 495p internal calibrator at -20 dBm.

 

The images are saved on 495 memory, no interaction between the two signals has occurred.

 

Both carriers are seen with 20 kHz Span, 100 Hz BW, no video filter.
